Te Rau Aroha is important for these students, with its focus on the A Company of the 28 (Māori) Battalion. Many feel pride in personal connections to the soldiers honoured in Whare Maumahara.
Kamo principals and teachers spent time with our ed team at Waitangi to get a feel of our education experience before planning visits for 700 students over a few weeks! It’s awesome the whole school shared this experience and can build on learning together. As part of their school camps, groups also visited other local tūrangawaewae that connect to learning at Waitangi, such as Kororāreka (Russell) and Ruapekapeka.
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou ngā kaiako, ngā kaimahi me ngā ākonga o tēnei kura o Kamo Intermediate. Hoki mai ano!
